Christians under
Roman Catholic Church believe that Jesus is the Messiah prophesied in
the Hebrew Bible, referred to as the "Old Testament" in
Christianity. The foundation of Christian theology is expressed in
the early Christian ecumenical creeds, which contain claims
predominantly accepted by followers of the Christian faith. These
professions state that,
"Jesus
suffered. He died, he was buried, and was resurrected from the dead
to open heaven to those who believe in him and trust him for the
remission of their sins (salvation). They further maintain that
Jesus' bodily ascended into heaven where he rules and reins with God
the Father. Most denominations teach that Jesus will return to judge
all humans, living and dead, and grant eternal life to his
followers". We must note that these claims made by Church are
not found any where in the teachings of Jesus. These are new
creations of Church to promote its position in the followers of
Jesus. Present practice of church shows deep influence of Judaism on
it.
He is considered
the model of a virtuous life, and both the revealer and physical
incarnation of God. Christians call the message of Jesus Christ the
"Gospel" (means, good news) and hence refer to the earliest
written accounts of his ministry as gospels.
Now if we know that
Jesus did not die then on the cross and he did not come out of any
tomb but he went on his feet to East in search of the Lost tribe; the
whole treatment of present Catholic Church becomes a hoax. Even
though there are many important differences of interpretation and
opinion of the Bible on which Christianity is based, Christians share
a set of beliefs that they hold as essential to their faith.
Therefore, due to this it has become a prestige issue about
acceptance of the facts of history that Jesus did not die on Cross
but continued to survive for many years thereafter. If Church accepts
this fact, they will have to reply to its many followers about how
this argument can apply in the new situation. We find that the story
of Jesus dying on Cross and later buried and the story of
resurrection was originally concocted to keep Jew priesthood from
pestering Jesus further and that was done under guidance of Roman
soldiers under General Pilate. Had that been not done; the Jew
priesthood would come to find Jesus and try to kill him again. Roman
Catholic Church continued with that story, as it was convenient for
them to accept it. In this way, the truth was waved away for the
benefit of Church.
The Church firmly
believes that all its followers are sinners. Actually to condemn all
people as sinners is in itself a blasphemy. For that, Church will
have to explain what it means by sin and sinner. We have many
different definitions of these terms sin and sinner. Nobody can give
an authentic definition for this term, some say not accepting creed
of Christianity is sin and one who does it is the sinner. As per
Islam not to accept five pillar creed is sin. As per Hindu belief
indulging in six passions particularly Anger (Krodha), Boastfulness
or pride (Maada) and Jealousy envy (Matsar) is sin and the one who
does it is sinner. In Jain belief, giving trouble to others
(inflicting pain to body and or mind) as well as hurting oneself and
amassing wealth is sin and the one who does it is sinner. In secular
environment we accept sin is that act which violets principles of
goodness and encourages evil ideas is sin and the one who does it is
sinner. Forsaking goodness seems to be the main core substance when
sin becomes the issue in all religions as well as secularism but it
is mentioned differently. Jesus has also called people to stick to
principles of righteousness. That clearly shows that the definition
of sin by Jesus very much agrees with that given in secularism.
